Beisba»||i, December 28. v, A horrible outrage and triple murder Is reported from Gallon, in the Ipswich district. Michael Morphy, aged 29, and his sisters, Norah, 27 years, and Ellen, 18 years, attended a local race meeting and left on their return home in a dogcart at 10 Vcioek at night. Next morning the horse was found shot dead in the bush a short distance from the township, and the three Murphys lay beside the cart with their skulls brutally smashed, apparently by a heavy stick. The hands of both girls were tied behind the backs, and Norah had a strap tightly buckled round her neck. Both had been cruelly outraged prior to death. There is no clue to the perpetrators. GOOD RAINS. Good rains have fallen over the greater part of the colony, heavy in the north. A STEAMER LOST. Hobabt, December 27. The s.s. Yolla was wrecked in a dense fog, and sank in 16 minutss. There is no hope of salvage. Thirty head of cattle aboard were, drowned.
