SHOOTING.

THE FEDERAL MEETING. United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received October 20Ih, 9.35 a.m. Sydney, October 20. Efforts have been made to get the New South Wales Rifle Association to reenter the Federal Council from which they seceded mainly as a resuit of other colonies sending teams to Bisley on their own account. The New South Wales Council affirmed reentry to the Federal Council, but discovered that their majority was inadquate. Two members attend the Federal Council to report to the local Council. Several leading New South Wales members contended that the local Council is stronger than all the others put together, they have everything to lose and nothing to gain by reentry to the federation, which is regarded to be really of no practical use to rifle shooting. It is blowing bard and gusty, and a cold rain'is threatening. The shooting was in and out at the 800 yards of the Hangar Match. Received October 20th, 6 p.m.
