The Salvation Army has purchased the Model Lodging-house, which for some time has been a non-payingconcern,and will use it in connection with rescue work. RABBIT DESTRUCTION BILL. Sydney, March 12. At the conference of pastoralists to discuss the proposed Rabbit Destruction Bill, the Minister of Lands stated that the Government had expended over £831,000 in attempting to exterminate the pest. Nearly one thousand miles of wire-proof fencing had been erected. HONOURS. Brisbane, March 12. On the nomination of the French President, Mr Donovan, parliamentary librarian, has been made a Chevalier of the Legion of Honour, in recognition of good offices frequently extended to French citizens visiting Queensland, and in efforts to promote the commercial relations of France and Queensland.
