TENNIS.
TRINITY (TIMARU) V. PLEASANT * POINT.
The attendance of visitors yesterday was good, and the weather at time of starting was favourable, but as the afternoon wore on a cold wind sprang up from the south, and rather interfered with the play. The visitors were much too good for the local players. Miss and Mr Lambert were a tower of strength to them and got through without a defeat; while Misses Jones and Cartwright were superior to the ladies opposed to them. Some of the play was good, and several very good rallies were seen. The result was a win for the Point by 29 games. The following are the scores:— Pleas . nt Point. Timaru. • Ladies’ Singles.
