The following teams will represent the Timaru High School and Main School and teachers to-morrow: —High School : Crawford (2), Gunn, Howell, Kerr, Mayo, Raymond, Stone, Tennent, Talbot, and Wood. Main School : Blake, Boys, Bell.Crawshaw, Findlay, Malcolmson, Montgomery, Rogers, Tennent, Thompson, Walton; emergencies, Gunn, Parry, and Walker.
The match Zealandia v. United came off yesterday on the former’s ground, and resulted in a win for Zealandia on the first innings by 83 runs, the scores being 136 and 53 respectively. The principal scorers for Zealandia were Montgomery 31, Dalgleish 26, W. Shaw 18, and E. Hassall 13 (not out), and for the United, Hutton (25) was the only one to get into double figures. In the bowling department Halkett 5 for 46 and Hutton 3 for 48 bowled best for the losers, while Dalgleish 8 for 21 did the same for the Zealandia. The United on resuming batting lost 7 wickets for 22 runs when stumps were drawn.
