Charge has been supported for £2OOO and is now at 8 to 1. Sabretache is quoted at 10 to 1, Coil being at the same price. Both have been well backed. Other prices for the Derby are the same as last quotations. The Skipper has been supported for the Melbourne Cup for £SOOO at 100 to 8, Broken Hill and Newhaven 100 to 6, Chevalier, The Officer, Hopscotch, and Resolute 100 to 6, Charge, Sabretache, Bloodshot, O’Trigger, Marusa, Erehwon, Pivot and Tire 100 to 4, Devon 100 to 3. Newhaven finished badly after a mile and a half gallop this morning. The Skipper defeated Tire over a mile and a half in 2min 45sec, which constitutes the best performance record over that distance this week. Bloodshot defeated Mischief and Outrigger over a mile and a half in 2min 46sec. Charge executed a strong mile and a half.
