MAIL NOTICES.
Subject to any necessary alterations mails will close as under;— Friday, 28th August. For the Australian Colonies (via Auckland), and Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Waihora, at 6 a.m. Monday, 31st August. For the United Kingdom and Europe (specially addressed via Brindisi), Australian Colonies, India, China, etc. (via Wellington), and Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Tekapo, at 6 a.m. [This mail will be due in London on October 13th.1 Wednesday, 2s d September. For the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, United States of America, Canada, West Indies, etc. {via San Francisco), Hawaiian Islands, Samoa, and Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Takapuna, as follows: —Ordinary letters 4 p.m., registered letters, money orders, book packets and newspapers at 3.30 p.m., late fee letters at C.P.O. till 4.45 p.m., and at mail van, north express, till 5.7 p.m. [This mail will be due in London on October 7th,l The next German mail packet leaves Melbourne 14th Sept. Due at Berlin 26th October.
The next French mail packet leaves Melbourne 14th Sept. Due at Marseilles on 13th October. The next direct mail for the United Kingdom, etc., leaves Lyttelton on 3rd Sept.; due in London 15th October. Mails for Earatonga and Tahiti, per Richmond, will close at Auckland on Thursday, 3rd Sept. Mails for Cromarty and Puysegm Point close at Invercargill on 27th inst., at 12.30 p.m. E. J.
