The June session of the Supreme Oourtat Timaru opens to-morrow at 11 a.m. The following is the list of criminal cases:— Regina v. George Alves (five charges), forgery and uttering.—Mr J. W. William Williams ; stealing horse, cart and harness. —Mr White for the Crown. Regina v. Joseph McCoy ; larceny of ■money at Rakaia.—Mr White for the Crown. Regina v. Algernon Percy Mitchell; forgery and uttering.—Mr White for the Crown. (By Telegraph.) WELLINGTON, June 10. The trial of Charles Nicholson, indicted for the murder of his paramour, Annie Field, began this morning. Mr Jellieoe, for the defence, challenged nine jurymen. The case is expected to last over to-day.
