A man entered Alcock’s jeweller’s shop iaat night, and snatched up a case containing £2OOO worth of diamond rings. The thief got clear away. MORE RETRENCHMENT. Melbourne, August 26. The Government have revised the Estimates, effecting a further saving of £175,000. SEPARATION. Brisbane. August 26. The Legislative Assembly by 32 to 15 rejected a motion in favour of the separation of Central Queensland.
