The cricket match, Australians v. Somersetshire, was postponed owing to rain.

July 23.
Play in the Somersetshire match was resumed yesterday, the Australians being got rid of for 106. Bannerman scored 21 and Giffen 36. Woods took 6 wickets for 26, and Nichols 2 for 22. Somersetshire in their second innnings made only 64, Fowler being top scorer with 17. Turner secured 7 wickets for 26, and Trumble 2 for 24. The Australians in their second innings knocked up 78 for the loss of 4 wickets, and thus won the match by 6 wickets and 2 tuns. Turner was almost unplayable on the sticky wicket. The fielding of the visitors was brilliant throughout.
