Over 300 Javanese employed on (ho Goondi sugar plantation near Qoraldlon have struck work owing to a reduction having been, made in their wages for time lost through wet weather. The residents of Geraldton are arming in case of emergency. Warrants which were issued for the arrest of four men on a charge of absconding from service have not been served owing to a fear that tho attempt to arrest them would provoke a general riot.
