Mr W. H. Smith, in the House of Commons, gave notice of a resolution to resume the Government bills at the same stage next session.
Mr Gladstone approved of the action of the Government. Mr Smith announced that he would proceed with the Tithes Bill, the Police Bill, the Western Australia Enabling Bill, and the Local Taxation Bill, and carry over the Irish Land Purchase Bills.
