A Church SocietyCHRISTCHURCH, June 4. At the annual meeting of the Church Work Society the balance sheet showed receipts £374, expenditure £286. The Member for Ashley. Mr Verrall, member for Ashley, addressed his constituents at Ohoka last night, and received a vote of thanks. C.J-C. Summer Meeting’. The Canterbury Jockey Club have decided to hold a summer meeting on a Saturday in the latter part of January. Heresy Hunt. DUNEDIN, Junk 2. Tho presbytery has entered on what appears to be a heresy hunt directed against the Rev. Mr Gibb, pastor of First Church, by Mr A. 0. Bogg. There was a long discussion but no definite action was taken.
