Advertising on Postage Stamps.
(By Telegraph.)
WELLINGTON, Nov. 1
Some time ago an offer was made to Government by a Victorian firm for the right of advertising on the back of postage stamps. Similar offers were made in the other colonics. There w'as an inclination at first to accept the proposal, but after considering objections to the scheme and after communicating with the Australian Governments it was decided to refuse the offer. The objections, of which there were many, were not commensurate with merely monetary benefit.
