(By Telegraph. ) ADDINGTON LIVE STOCK MARKET. CHRISTCHURCH. June 12. There was a fair attendance at the market to-day. Cattle and sheep were in reduced numbers compared with recent sales. SHEEP. There was a good enquiry for several lines of crossbreds which sold well. Crossbred lambs (medium quality) sold at 6s Bd, better line 8s 3d to 10s, crossbred ewes in lamb 7s 6d to 10s 7d, 2 and 4-tooth mixed crossbreds 9s 2d, merino wethers (low condition) 3s 2d. In fat sheep the supply was in excess of the demand, and prices fell about Is per head. CATTLE. Yery moderate entry with the exception of two or three head of superior quality. The price obtained was a trifle easier than last week’s market. Store cattle were limited in extent, no standard lines being offered. Prices obtained were much on a par with previous quotations. There were very few dairy cows entered and those call for no special mention. PIGS. Were only moderately represented, but the quality all round was good. Prices were the same as before. DUJSEDIN. June 12. Mr D. Stronach reports for the week ended June 12th, as follows :

FAT CATTLE. 278 head were yarded, representing all qualities. The number was rather in excess of actual requirements. Competition was only moderately active, especially for medium quality. Prime beef was in rather better demand, but on the whole the prices realised were below last week’s. Best bullocks brought £7 5s to £8 ss, one or two pens extra prime £8 10s to £9, medium to good <£s 10s to .£6 15s, inferior and light .£3 17s 6d to £5 15s, cows in proportion. FAT SHEBF. 3685 were penned, of which about 200 were merino wethers, the balance crossbreds, including a larger proportion of wethers than is usually the case. There was little or no demand for export, and the number being in excess of trade requirements competition lacked spirit, resulting in a decline of from Is to Is fid per head. Only for graziers operating to a certain extent a very much heavier reduction would have had to bo recorded. Best cross* bred wethers brought 13s to 14s 6d, one or two small pens of stags 17s to 2!s, ordinary 10s to 12s 6d, best crossbred ewes 10s 6d to 17s 6d, ordinary 8s to 10s, merino wethers 7s to 8s 6d. GRAIN. Wheat —Business throughout the week has been very quiet. Several lines of really prime quality have been offered, but buyers are willing to operate only at a considerable reduction on late rates. Growers in the meantime are not disposed to make any concessions, preferring to hold a little longer. _ At the present moment the prospect of any improvement seems doubtful. The northern markets are drooping, and prices are recoding weekly. The following are simply prices obtained during the week for small lots disposed of, but at which it would be hardly possible to place medium sized lines For prime northern velvet and Tuscan 3s lOd to 4s, medium (for which there is scarcely any demand) 3s fid to 3s 9d, interior to medium 2s 9d to 3s 4d, ex store. Oats—While the market continues firm buyers for export appear to be less disposed to increase present stocks, while on the other hand the local millers are buying freely, and at slightly higher prices, especially when the quality is prime, thin-skinned, dry, full, and bright. It is considered somewhat doubtful if any further advance will bo obtained. Quotations for best bright milling are 2s lljd to 3s, best short feed 2s 10|d to 2s lid, medium to good 2s 9£d to 2s lOd, inferior to medium 2s 7|d to 2s 9d, ox store. Barley is only in very moderate demand, and prices show no improvement. Wo quote prime malting 3s 3d to 3s 9d, medium 2s 9d to 3s fid, ex store,
