A meeting of the Waimate Library Committee was held on Tuesday evening. There were present—Mr F. Slee (chairman), and Messrs Wall, Forshrook, A. Watt, J. Cameron, Mitchell, Jones, Sinclair. The chairman stated that the meeting had been called to discuss library matters, and to consider whether any alteration should be made in the,working of the institution. He read a statement showing the position of the library at Jthe time the Borough Council took the management of the institution, and went into the matter very fully, explaining all the transactions from the commencement. After considerable discussion it was resolved that the chairman and Messrs A. Watt and Sinclair be a sub-committee to take into consideration the position of the Borough Council re the library, and to report to the committee, as soon as possible.
