A Curious Blunder.

CHRISTCHURCH, April 24,

A curious case of supposed larceny occurred atKaiapoi. Two men, named McNicoll and F. Raynor, occupied the same bed at Middleton’s hotel on Sunday night. Before retiring McNicoll shewed Raynor £l9 in notes, which he placed in his trousers’ pocket, putting the trousers under his pillow. Raynor got up first next morning, and when he got up, missed the money. He laid an information against his companion, whe was arrested. Then McPicoll found tho money between his drawers and stockings. He told the police and made reparation to Raynor.
