FIRES AT AUCKLAND.
(Bv Telegraph.) AUCKLAND, Nov. 22. About 10.30 last night a fire broke out in an unoccupied nine-roomed house at Newton, belongingTo Mr M. Casey, who bought it unfinished last week. This house and the adjoining one, owned and occupied by Mr J. Etty, were’completely destroyed. Mr Etty’s house is insured for £3OO in _ the South British Office, and there was a builder’s risk of £l5O on Mr Casey’s. About 1 o’clock this morning a serious outbreak of fire occurred at the Woollen Company’s works at Onehunga. The five was in the dyeing and drying sheds adjoining the main building, but by prompt measures it was prevented from spreading. Its origin is supposed to have been the heating of the wool. Everything was 'secure at 11.30 last night. The damage amounts to about £2OO. The property is insured in the South British Office, ____________
