RECLAMATION LEASES-A DIFFICULTY.

(By TBLEGKArH.) WELLINGTON, July 22. The Harbour Board recently put up to auction, the leases of the reclamation close to the wharf, with a frontage on the street to be formed, and these sights being excellent, good prices were realised. A street was shown on the plan as 66 feet wide, but the buyers now find it is only 49 feet, and complain that their plans for building are valueless. It was suggested that all leases should be cancelled and offered under new conditions, but the Boards solicitors have given an opinion that if the Corporation choose to make a street of leas width than 66 feet, it cannot affect the leases executed by the Board. For present, therefore, the leases appear to have no redress.
