Levels Road Board.

The ordinary monthly meeting of (bis Board was held to-Jay, when there were present, Messrs Moody(Chairman), Orbell, Kerslake, Plante, and Balfour. CORBESPONDBNCE. The following correspondence was dealt with : From Mr Bristol, stating that the road at Kiogsdown wonld be unsuitable and objecting to the alteration. Consideration of the matter postponed till next meeting. From Messrs Sullivan and Rinaban, calling attention to the continuation of Driscoll’s and Point roads ; also stating the Valley road required shingling, The Overseer was authorised to call for tenders.

From Mr W. Armitage, objecting to clear gorse from roadside until some shingle is removed. Referred to the Overseer.

From Mr B, Calvert and others, calling attention to the state of Gibson street.

The Inspector was instructed to report to the Board.

From Mr H. Burgess calling alien* tion to Baker street and asking that it be formed and shingled and footpaths made.

The Overseer to report on the pro* bable cost.

From the Manager of the N.Z, and A. Land Go., asking that Certain properties be transferred on the rate booh, the parties concerned consenting. The request was complied with. From the aame, asking that the road between B.R, 1289 and 15896 and then to Pleasant Point be formed and stone fords put in creek ; also that the road from R.B, 15896 to railway line be made fit for dray traffic ; also from B,S. 15550 to Sutherlands railway siding and between that section and 14954 be formed where necessary, The Overseer to report on cost and call for tenders for. consideration at next meeting, OYEBSEEB’S EEfOBT.

The following report was read : “Ja accordance with instructions I' have the honor to report os follows : “ The contract (or road to Caledonian Sports Ground i s finished, A piece of land has been taken from the Maoris and a road made into the river at Milford, Driscoll’s road has been completed and the boulders secured, Gay’s Pass toad has been completed, The Three Mile Bush road has been completed. The flat by Newton’s and Balfour’s road has been repaired, A pnlvert baa been pnt in at Blues’ and road repaired, A catting has been made at the Tengawai woolshed. The dam has been completed on Totara Boad by Mitchell’s. Robinson’s mill leading to Smith’s is being repaired. The ruts on roads leading <o Claremont have been filled in. The road at the back of Gosling's and the zig-zag at Briggs’ Golly are being re* paired. The road leading to Godby’s and Hamersley's road has been com* pleted. NEW BOAD, It was decided to call for tenders for road on Brothers near Gould’s for next meeting. TOTABA VALLEY. The Overseer to repair creek crossing at Mr I’endall’s swamp road, Totara Valley.

A CAUTION. The attention of landowners who are allowed to retain gates on public roads was drawn to tho complaints of badly constructed and dangerous gates being still in nap, and the Inspector was instructed to remove or destroy any such imperfect gate without farther notice. ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £525 15s 64 having been passed for payment tbe Board adjourned.
