VICTORIA.

Msiboubnb, Nov. 10.

The Prince of Wales’ Birthday was characterised by beautiful weather, and the holiday was enjoyed by large num-. hers of people. Attraction was divided between the cricket match against the English Eleven, the sham fight of the Victorian forces at Flemingtou, and various marine and country excursions. The annual session of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Ohuroh of Victoria commenced business of the greatest public interst, in consideration of a call by the Scotch Church to the Rev. Geo. Dodds, who was assistant to Mr Strong, and the general feeling is that the same intolerance which characterised the consideration of Mr Strong’s case will again be projnipwtfly displayed. The barque Kentish Lass, from Cam*

| bridge Golf for Wellington, arrived in the Bay on November Bth, having tun short of water. She brings 41 men from "Kimberley, who say they wish they had.never beard of the place. Campbell, the defaulting teller io the . Bank of Australia, was arrested and brought before the magistrates on November sth. The bank did not wish to press the charge, stating that prisoner had derived no personal benefit from his defalcations, but the Crown Prosecutor insisted on the case being proceeded with. Campbell was remanded for a week, bail being allowed. Captain Howard Smith, Captain Currie and Captain Thomas are understood to have been appointed to examine the efficiency of the pilot service of Pert Philip. The whole cargo of the French barque Olaucuse, wrecked near the Hoads, has been landed and brought to Melbourne. The general opinion is that the attendance on the Cop day was between 80,000 and 90,000, and that the estimate of former years has been somewhat exaggerated, as this year the course was more largely attended than ever before.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA. Adelaide, Nov. 10.

Good reports come in from Teetulpa, gold mingled with quartz being found in Brady's Gully and the vicinity and the belief is expressed that as the diggers proceed np the gaily valuable finds will result. Many men who worked for a long time fruitlessly have now been rewarded by finding good gold. About 24 ounces of coarse gold was found in Gosling's Gaily, on the other side of the bill from Brady’s. Water is obtainable for washing, though it is too suit for drinking purposes.
