Presentation.

Before leaving Timaru for Christchurch by yesterday afternoon’s express, the Eev. Isaac Zaohariah, who conducted the services in connection with the Jewish Day of Atonement on Friday and Saturday last, was made the recipient of a presentation, So short a time was allowed for!making the arrangements that it was only a few minutes before the express arrived that the gentlemen who had interested themselves in the matter met in the Staionmaster’s office. Mr Levien read the following address :-r- ---“ Xo the Bev. Isaac Zaohariah Jewish Minister, Christchurch. “On behalf of the members of the Timaru Jewish congregation, we beg to tender yoa oar heartfelt thanks for your kindness in coming to officiate for ns at the New Year and Day of atonement, and respectfully _ request yon to accept the accompanying purse of sovereigns as a small recognition of the esteem and respect in which we, one and all, hold you. Trusting that you and your family may live long, and that we may for many > years receive the benefit of your spiritual instruction, (Signed) “ Moss Jonas, President. “ D. Zandee, Treasurer. “ J. Lbvien, Hon. Secretary." Mr Jonas then presented to the Eev. Mr Zaohariah a purse of sovereigns, which bad been collected, and the gift having been acknowledged in suitable terms and the health of Mrs Zaohariah duly honored, the meeting separated.
