OHBISTCHDEOH. LIVE STOCK MARKET

Owing to Wednesday being a panial holiday only moderate supplies of s'ook were sent tq the Addington Yards, and tba limited attendance may be attributed to tbs same cause. Sheep,—There was again an exceedingly small supply of sheep, considerably less than half an avera-e entry of butcher’s lines’being penned. Prime crossbreds sold at from 13s to 14s 6d, a few exceptionally heavy sheep realised 15s 6d ; medium weights and mixed sexes brought from Hs 6d to 12s sd. Merinos of fair quality sold at from 6s to 7s 9d ; lighter weights penned aa butchers’ sheep, but scarcely fit for the i purpose, brought from 4s to 5s 6d. The rate per pound for mutton is without Hi-

I teration, and remains at a little under 2d on an average. The entry of store sbeep was confined to a very few lots, and about the only business tram-aced was the disposal of a line of fresh-conditioned mixed 2 and 4-tooth otoss-breds at 10a 6d ; ewes in lamb at Bs, and lambs at 7s. Cattle.—On Wednesday, the inaugural sale of fat cattle took place under the new arrangement., viz., at 3 a,m., and nearly eveiy line was sold at prices which, although nothing extraordinary, were certainly quite equal to, if not in advance of those ruling at the afternoon sales of late. Good lines of steers sold at from £6 to £7 12b 6d. Mixed classes and light weights brought trom £i to £5, Wa quote beef at from 16a to 18s per ICOlb. There was only a moderate supply of etore cattle, and very little business was done. The demand was dull, and prices remain unaltered. A good demand however, still continues for dairy cows, which sold up to £B. Pigs.—The entry of pies, though large, was not so heavy as those of the past two or f iree weeks. A large proportion consisted of sorts somewhat too light fir baoon purposes, and consequently did not meet with much competition from curers. Biddings showed no improvement on lot® rates.
