SUPPOSED LAND DUMMY CASE.

Dunedin, May 28. At the Land Board yesterday, Mr McKenzie moved for an enquiry under the Land Board Inquiry Act as to the occupation of Benmore run, an endow* men t of the Otago University, which waa leased to Mr C. Begg as Attorney for a Mr W. Docherty of London. Mr McKenzie said the allegation of the settlers in the district was that Docherty was a dummy for E. Campbell and Sons. Consideration of the matter was postponed for a week so that a legal opinion might be obtained as to whether the run comes within the scope of the Inquiry Act.
