It is announced that New Zealand will send a representative to Sydney on the return of the New South Wales contingent in order to convey the congratulations of that colony to the troops. Shipping. The introduction of the shilling tariff for ten word telegrams between Victoria and New South Wales has proved a splendid success, the traffic having increased fully one third, while the falling off of the revenue of the department seems slight. Negotiations have been in progress with the New Zealand Telegraph Department to reduce their share of the revenue to six pence per ten words in order to admit of the rates between Victoria and that colony being reduced, bat up to the present time have refused, although the Victorian Government strongly urges its aoceptence, The Guards. London, May 26. The Guards landed at Alexandria this morning and the order which was issued for the second army corps to proceed to India has been cancelled.
