The “ Economist” has published an an article, in which it makes severe reflections upon the published correspondence between the Government of New South Wales and its bankers, disclosing the methods which the Bank of New South Wales resorted to in order to float the loans for .the colony. The English Government have requested the Agents-General to confer together, and supply the Colonial Office with a joint note in reference to the amendments suggested by the Imperial Government in the Federation Enabling Bill. Mr Morley, Member for Newcastle. upon-Tyno, has given notice in the House of Commons that ho will ask Government, on Tuesday next, to supply full details of the military forces of the Australian Colonies. March 3. The British Government have issued an ultimatum to Russia, in which any further advance in the direction of the Afghan frontier is forbidden.
