CRICKET.
THE AUSTRALIAN ELEVEN AT HOME.

The Australian team commenced a; cricket match to-day against a representative eleven of Nottingham County, at Nottingham. The following are thenames of the local team : —Wright, Attewell, Barnes, Flowers, Gunn, Selby, Scotton, A. Shaw, Shorwin, Shrewsbury, and W. Wright. There was a large attendance of spectators, and the weather nas splendid. The ground was in good order, and an excellent wicket bad been prepared. The Home team went in first and scored 170; Barnes, bowled 38, being the highest scorer. The Australians then went in for their first innings, and whoa the stumps woredrawn for the day had lost two wicketa for 44 runs, Giffen being not out for 22.
