TIMAEU—THIS DAY. (Before E. G. Stericker, Esq., and His Worship the Mayor.) CHILD DESERTION. Amelia Clark was charged on the information of David Sabastian, immigration depSt master, with deserting her illigitimate child on the 3rd inst. It appeared that the accused, who has only recently arrived in the colony, was delivered of a male child at the Immigration Dop6t, and a few days after deserted it. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the Bth, and she was brought up from Dunedin, appearing at the Court this morning. The case was adjourned to the 29th inst, to admit of the Resident Magistrate adjudicating in the matter. ‘ ■ COW AT LAEGE. P. Thoreau was charged with allowing a cow to wander at large within the Borough. He was fined 10s and costs. VEHICLES UNATTENDED. C. Chivers and J. Morrison, for leaving their vehicles unattended within the Borough, were fined 10s and costs and 5s and costs respectively. DRIVING LOOSE HORSES. John Grant, for driving two horses loose in the Main South Road, was fined 5s and costs.
