(Pan Fbkss Association.) THIS DAY. The Stranded Barque* Wellington, Jan. 18, The agents of the barque Fusilier received the following telegram from the* captain this morning:—“Every tide is driving vessel further up beach." Trout Ova. Mr Stoddard, of Hampden, an Otago settler, who has returned by theAorangi, brought out with him 100,000* Loch Leven trout ova. The boxes have been opened here, and it is found that » considerable proportion are dead, some l apparently having not been impregnated. The ova in one box, however, is in fairly good condition and will be forwarded to Otago by the Te Anau on Monday. Steamer Ashore, Messrs Levin and Co., agents of the steamer Napier, received a telegram this morning stating that the steamer Napier went ashore inside the mouth of the Raugitikei River. She is making a great deal of water. Assistance is immediately wanted. Bolls, Jan. 18. The s.s. Napier is ashore on the south spit of the Eangitikei river. Latee. The steamer Napier is insured for £2250, distributed amongst several offices, the names of which are not yet known. Captain Bendall, of the Underwriters’ Association, leaves for Eangitiki to-night.
Unseasonable Weather* Cheistchuech, Jan. 18. Heavy rain from the south-west fell throughout the whole of last night. The weather is still very threatening and cold.
Dividend Declared. Dunedin, Jan. la The Refrigerating Company have declared a dividend of 10 per cent. Services Acknowledged.
The “Tablet” states that Father Fynes has been elevated to the dignity of Prelate, and has been appointed Supernumerary Chamberlain to the Pope, in recognition of bis administra* tion in the Auckland diocese.
