S. C. Times Office, Monday Evening. Messrs Maclean and Stewart report for the past week as follows, viz. : Horses —An average entry of draught and light harness horses and hacks was to-day booked for sale. They have to report a very dull demand at present for almost all classes, and but few lots found purchasers, and owners who are ansious to sell must be prepared to reduce their values considerably. To-day they sold a few good, draughts from £23 to £2B 5 lighter sorts, from £l6 to £22; ordinary hacks, £8 to, £l4. , Cattle—Well-grown, 2 and 3-year-old steers are in good demand, and prices for ; these are satisfactory. At the Washdyke Yards last Monday a fair lot came to hand. They sold , a pen of 14 steers and heifers ,a,t £4 16a 3d; a number of heifers and cows from £3 to £4 10s. Fat cattle—- . Present valne,' .about, 25s per 1001 b for prime quality beef. Sheep—The demand for store sheep is .considerably easier this week. A large number ofihe requirements have now been supplied, and till stubble feed th&. business in class, of ..stock' will be limited- placed privately .tufongbthe week, at - satisfactory prices, 2000 merino wethers and 300 crossbred 2tooths. Fat Sheep—They quote present values at about 3d per lb, At the Washdyke yards last Monday they placed a line of 300 crossbred wethers at 16s 3d.
