A special meeting of the committee of the Timaru Agricultural and Pastoral Association will be held at 2 o’clock tomorrow afternoon. The Grand Jury this afternoon found no bill against Thomas Harris Parsons, charged with arson. The accused was therefore discharged. Mrs Ostler and Messrs Plante and Wagstaff haye kindly forwarded special prizes to Mrs Nelson to be distributed in the Side School. The Timaru Floral and Horticultural Society’s Show takes place on Monday next. Entries must be sent in to-morrow evening before 9 o’clock. Common jurors summoned for Monday next are not required to attend the Supreme Court till Tuesday, and special jurors in the case Williamson v. Gamaek are not required to attend at all. Mr P. J. Bell, well-known in connection with the Grosvenor billiard room, announces in an advertisement that he has opened a private billiard room above Mr Shappere’s watchmakers shop. The table is a very superior one and the room, which is exceptionally well ventilated, is fitted in a most comfortable manner. The “ Noue Froie Presse” recently had an advertisement which ran, “Wanted—A man without encumbrance, of middle age, willing to travel; _ must be a misanthrope, with bitter experiences of the wickedness of mankind. Pay and position good. Everything found.
