THIS DAY. [Received Dec. 12,1883,11.40 a.m,] The Bishop of Sydney. London, Deo. 11. Dr Barry, the Bishop elect of Sydney* New South Wales, was entertained at a banquet at Worcester last evening. Sir Saul Samuel, Agent-General in London for New South Wales was among the guests. Tonquin Affairs. Paris, Dec. 10. In the Chamber of Deputies to-day, a debate took place upon the Tonquin policy of the Government, at the conclusion of which, votes of credit and confidence in the Government were passed by large majorities. In the coarse of his speech, M. Ferry declared that Government firmly resolved to follow up their present line of policy and push operations without delay.
