Tho publisher of the Tyrone (Ireland) “Courier" has been arrested for printing and issuing placards proclaiming tho views of the National League. Trial of O’Donnell* Nov. 30. The trial of O’Donnell for tho murder of Carey, tho informer, at Port Elizabeth has been commenced at tho Central Criminal Court. The French in China, Paris, Nov. 29. The Committee of tho Chamber of Deputies have voted (ho sum of nine million francs to cover the expenses of tho French expedition to Tonquin, Marquis Tseng* Marquis Tseng, the Chinese Ambassador, who has been in this city some days for tho purpose of carrying on negotiations with the French Government, will shortly return to England Railway Accident* Nov, 30. A serious accident occurred to-day on a railway line near Montfort, Brittany. Eighteen lives were lost by the disaster,
and fifteen passengers are suffering from serious injuries. French Colonising. The Government have decided to send reinforcements to De Brazza, who is engaged in forming a French trading station on the Congo. GreetingsBehlin, Nov. 29. It has transpired that the Emperor William has telegraphed to the Eing of Spain, thanking him for the cordial re caption accorded to the Crown Prince of Germany, and assuring him of his (the Emperor’s) life-long friendship. Affairs in EgyptCaieo, Nov. 30. Intelligence has been received here that of a large body of gendarmes recently despatched to Souakin, one half have deserted when only half way on on their journey. The news has caused some alarm for the safety of people in Upper Egypt, who aro menaced by the rebels.
