GENERAL McIVOR
[To THE EdITOB.] Sib —In the latter part of the paragraph relating to General Molvor, published in your Wednesday’s issue, you state that the General ad opted _ the Turkish cause against the Russians. This is somewhat incorrect, as before Eussia entered the fray Mclvor was recruiting for the Red Cross Society for the Servians, in London, and had an office in Fetter Lane. I myself with obout 120 others were enrolled as ambulance men, but the relationship between the Servians, Russians and England being somewhat strained, the late Lord Beaconsfield gave the General a quiet hint to recruit elsewhere, which he took and went to Belgium. My agreement with General Mclvor was that I should be sent saloon to the nearest port to the seat of war and once arrived there I had to make my salary either regular or irregularly just as opportunity presented itself, an agreement not highly moral as to its basis but a positive fact nevertheless. —I am, &c. A, Walkee.
