THIS DAY. (Received Nov. 21,1883,11,20 a.m.) Commercial. London, Nov. 19. Consols have declined, to lOlf. New Zealand securities remain as followss per cent 10-40 loan, 105£; 5 per cent 1889 loan, 104 ex div ; 4£ per cent 1879-1904 loan, 99£ ex div ; 4 per cent inscribed stock, 100£. The market for colonial breadstuffs continues steady. Adelaide wheat has further advanced by 6d per quarter, and to-day is quoted at 46a 6d, ex store. New Zealand wheat remains at 38s 6d to 44s 6d ex store, according to quality. Adelaide flour, ex store, remains at 325. Australian tallow is dull—Best bee£ is quoted at 38s, and best mutton at 395, An Awkward Fix. Alexandria, Nov. 20. News has been received here from Soudan which has given currency to the report that the Egyptian forces under Hicks Pasha, operating against the followers of El Mabdi,tbe false prophet, are short of provisions and surrounded by the enemy. The position of the Egyptian troops is said to bo critical. Shooting Rebel Leaders, Belgrade, Nov. 20. Three of the leaders of the recent rebellion, in this country, who were condemned to death, have been shot.
