The barque Ramsay, 767 tons, bound from this port to London, has become a total wreck off Cape Elizabeth, on the Queensland coast. The crew escaped in their boats, which, however, parted company, and that containing the captain is missing. The other castaways have arrived here. They were six days at sea, and suffered great privations. [Received Nov. 12, 1883,0.40 p,m.] Great FireSydney, Nov. 11. An extensive and disastrous conflagration occurred in the lower part of the city at a late hour last night. The fire commenced in the Chinese quarter, Lower George street, and spread rapidly among the buildings. It destroyed two Chinese warehouses and the premises occupied by Doynon and Co., Crockery warehousemen, and Mitchell, Frances and Go’s ship chandlers. The coffee, palace is also much damaged. The loss is estimated at £20,000, part of which is covered by insurance. No Races. Meeboubne, Kov. 12. Heavy rain has now fallen without cessation for three days, and it is believed it will bo impossible to hold the races at Flemington to-morrow.
