THIS DAY. (Received Nov. 8, 1883,11,20 a.m.) Fearful Mining Disaster--100 Men Entombed. London, Nov. 7. A most disastrous explosion has occurred at the Monkfield Accrington, near Blaokbnrn, Lancashire. According to latest news to hand, fully one hundred men are entombed in the mine, and it is feared that all have perished. Reported Death of El MahdiAlexandria, Nov. 7. Reports have reached here from Soudan that El Mahdi, false prophet and leader of the rebellion in Zordofan, is dead. Dutch Decorations. Amsterdam, Nov. 7. The Executive Commissioners for the Netherlands, have made a recommendation to the Minister forjForeign Affairs, that decorations should be conferred upon the representatives of the Australian colonies at the recent Exhibition in this city. Official despatches from Tonquin announce that Admiral Courbet has decided to postpone until next month his projected advance against Bac-minh. Latest reports from Accrington, state that the entombed miners in Monkfield colliery have been rescued.
