The following scratchings for the Melbourne Cup were posted this afternoon : —Black Diamond, Dunstan, Raillery, Ericthoneus, Prometheus, Sensation, Silver Arrow, Su warrow, The Vagabond, Trump Yoss, Wahgunyah, and the Wizard. The Mirzapore. The Merchant Shipping and Underwriters’ Association report under date London, October 27th, that salvage operations upon the wreck of the ship Mirzapore, which went ashore near Boulogne, commenced on that date, contractors have undertaken to discharge the cargo and, if possible, float the vessel. Hews has been received here that Messrs John Uhr and Radford of the exploring party which is proceeding from Tenant’s Creek, in the Territory, to Buchanan’s River, have not been massacred by natives, and that the report of their death which had been brought in is without foundation.
