Melbourne, April 4.

Several members of the English cricket team, namely, Head, Leslie, Tylecote, Steel, and 0. Stndd, left for England per the Paramatta last week. The Secretary, and a number of members of the Melbourne Cricket Club assembled to bid them adien.

Arthur Eobertson, a storekeeper at Port Campbell, was summoned for selling spirituous liquor without a license. Several working men assembled at defendant’s store and partook of a few gl asses of ginger wine and became so intoxicated that the aid of the police was required. The beverage, on being analysed, was proved to contain 22 per cent of proof spirit. In another similar case an analysis showed 33 per cent. She is supposed to have struck a sunken pile. The Assembly resolved that counsel be heard at the Bar of the House in support of the petition ?f Mr E. A. Baker, who was expelled from the House in connection with the Milburn Creek affair.
