Arrest of an EmbezzlerNelson, April 9. A young man named Frank Hodgson against whom a warrant was issued in October last, on a charge of embezzling £SOO from the National Bank in 1881, has been arrested. He was charged before the magistrate this morning, and remanded. Ho evaded the police for a long time, but was eventually captured ’ in the neighborhood of Pelorous Sound. Playing with GunpowderA lad named Holland has had his thnmb and the palm of his right hand shattered by an explosion of half a pound of gunpowder, which he and five other boys were playing with. Committed for TrialDunedin, April 9. At the Port Chalmers Police Court to-day Robert Waldrop was committed for trial for stabbing John Thompson.
