The Legislative Assembly has passed by a very large majority, a vote of £150,000 for immigration purposes. Pedestrianism. A walking match between O’Leary and Edwards, for £2OO a side, Fas commenced here. Edwards is, so far, ahead, a position he has maintained for some time since the commencement of the contest. Suez Mail[Received March 16,1883, 1 am] Albany, March. 15. The P. and O- steamship Australia, with the inward Suez mail, dated London, 9th February, arrived at King George’s Sound last evening. Railway AccidentMelbourne, March 15. An accident occurred to-day at Clones, on the North-Western Railway, through a pointsman turning the train on to the wrong line. Several passengers were injured, but no fatalities are reported.
