A Poisoned Meal* CußisTcmmcu, August 21. Yesterday the family of Mr G. W. Howard,Kilmoro street, who partook of a bullock’s liver and suet dumplings for dinner, were all subsequently taken ill, and a little girl three years old died this morning.
Diphtheria. This diseaao is becoming very prevalent in North Canterbury.
Earthquake* A slight shock of earthquake was experienced at Rangiora yesterday.
Order Suspended* Dunedin, August 21. His Honor Mr Justice Williams today suspended for two years an order of discharge to John Plank, ox hotel keeper, for paying his mother £Bl and spending £3l, after knowing he was in insolvent circumstances.
