THIS DAY. “ Aaotrs ” Special. London, July 15,6.26 p.m. The fires which have been burning in Alexandria for the past few days are now expiring. Order is restored and English marines and sailors occupy all the gates of the City-. The Germans are protecting , the hospitals, and the Egyptians guarding the Consulates. The Khedive has proclaimed Arab! Pasha a rebel and ordered bis soldiers to disband. Bear Admiral Hoskins; is protecting the Suez Canal with a detachment of vessels from the British fieet. The mail service is resumed. Orders have been given at Woolwich for the preparations of material of war for 21,000 men, and 5300 horses. The Conservatives censure the Government for neglecting to forsee and provide against the atrocities which have been, committed in Alexandria. July 16 (7.25 a.m). 2,500 British Infantry have arrived in Alexandria. The French and Greeks are assisting the British in patrolling the city. It has been discovered that Arab! Bey, previous to his flight from Alex* ; andria bad plundered the Exchequer. The Sorata sailed to-day for Australia. Her commander protested against receiving mails without notice, . and declared that he had no accommodation for them, his ship being already full of mails. They therefore remained on deck, covered with tarpaulins, July, 17. Arab! Pasha is encamped atKafrdowar, Seventeen miles from Alexandria. He has summoned troops from Cairo to join him. Some British and German patrols at Alexandria fired on one another, owing to a misunderstanding. Transports have been engaged in London aud Bombay for the purpose of carrying troops to Egypt. The Powers propose that the Turkish occupation should be limited to six months, unless the Khedive demand an extension, the Powers to provide fundo for paying the expenses of the occupation, which will be repaid aft&rW&rds by Egypt. According to latest reports. Cairo is quiet. '
