DAY, the 3rd January, 1882, for the above contract. They are to be marked on the outside, “ Tender for Timarn Engine shed contract, ” and addressed to the Hon. the Minister for Public Works, Dunedin. Telegraphic tenders, similarly addressed and marked, will be received if presented at any telegraph office by noon of the same date, provided that written tenders are lodged at any District or Resident Engineer’s office by the same hour. Drawings, specifications, and general conditions can be seen at this office and at the Public Works Office at Christchurch, and at the Post Office, Timaru. NEW YEAR HOLIDAYS. EXCURSION TO DUNEDIN. CHEAP FARES I CHEAP FARES! I OWING to the success of the Holiday Excursions, a Special Train will leave Christchurch for Dunedin on night of Saturday, 31st December, at 8,40, taking on passengers from Christchurch for all stations up to Timaru, arriving at Dunedin at 8 o’clock next morning. The stations at which excursion tickets can bo procured, and the times at which the excursion train will leave those stations, are : Fares. Dep. time. Ist Class. 2nd Class. Tickets good for return for seven days from date of issue. The journey may be broken at any stopping place either going or returning. Excursion tickets at same fares may also be purchased for passengers to travel by | express train on Dec 31st or Jan. 2. By Order. V. jaflljffife. ENEW ZEALAND RAILWAYS. (Christchurch section) TRAIN ARRANGEMENTS. JANUARY 2, 1882, PTIHE EVENING TRAINS, TIMARU JL to ALBUEY, OAMARU, and ASHBURTON, and ALBUEY to TIMARU, will leave at 5.0 p.ra., 5.15 p.m., 5.30 p.m., and 7.20 p.m., respectively. The Evening train, Oamarn to Timaru, will leave at 5.10 p.m. The Waimate Branch Train will leave Waimate at 6.30 p.m., and return from Studholme Junction at 7.5 p.m., instead of the usual times. JANUARY 3, 1882. On the 3rd January, the Evening Train Oamaru to Timaru, will not leave until 5,10 p,m. The Waimate Branch Train will make an extra trip to meet the Train from Oamarn. In each case the Trains will start later than usual at each station to destination. NO GOODS TRAFFIC ON JANUARY 2. All Ordinary single fare Tickets issued on 23rd December, or any day up to and including 3rd January, will be available for Return up to'and including 7tb January. Special notice, —Ordinary single fare Tickets to Kingston, issued at Amberley, Waitaki, or any intermediate Station, on same dates as above, will be available for Return up to and including 14th January.
