MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office Timaru, for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under ; Thursday, Dec. 29. For Northern Ports of New Zealand per llingarooma, at 6 a.m, Welnesday, Dec. 28. For Australian Colonies, per Rotomaliana, at 4 p.m., to connect with P. and 0. steamer leaying Melbourne on Jan. 4,1882. Saturday, Dec, ill. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Wanaka, at 2.20 p .m. For the United Kingdom, via. San Francisco. The Post-office will be open until 9 p.m. on Saturday, 31st inst., for delivery of correspondence at the counter, and on Monday, January 2, 1881, between 9 and 10 a.m. Local and other mails will be despatched as usual.
