Notice, is hereby given that 1923 the control of the Chinese Fui^ r and accounts generally, will ]bf itObfce * hands of Samoa Crown Estaies The following notification is made in respect of the cost of Chinese labour and the pay menta necessiry to recover expenses and iu respect to conditions generally in so far as they can be controlled at present \ Debit -Notes will be issued by Crown Estates as heretofore : namely, on 3r4 day of each quarter. Quarters commence \st , January, Ist April, Ist July, Ist October, but costs in connection with "Old" and "Hildis'' labourers who are to be repatriated will run on monthly until their departure. Charges are at present assessed at: — '•Old" labourers for repatriation 18s per month. "Haldis" labourers for repatriation £l 16s per month. '•Ascot'- still under contract £1 16s per month. All labourers signing on fro-ri Ist August under "free" conditions as laid down, will be charged at 18s per month. All above charges subject to 25 per cent, allowance if paid by 3rd of the month following. BENETOE.ENT FEfN|Ji— In the casliof -"Free Labl|firers,". the above charge of 18s does not include as per month which is to be added to cover labourers' Contribution. This fund is apt up covering "free" labour only, and provides for a payment by each labourer of 2s per month out of wages. Employers must collect this sum each month as a deduction from wages, and such sum is,collected by Crown Estates by "inclusion in the accounts rendered for overhead costs at each period The sums' so to form a fund out of which is met all expenses of free labourers whilst iu hospital or uniJerjjjoing treatment as out j^fiei|ts.
