Over-Seas Club.
♦ ESSAY COMPETITION. A general committee meeting of the Over-Seas Club was held on Thursday 24th inst. Of general interest amongst the business was the arrangement of a prize Essay Competition open to the youth of both sexes. The subject will be concerned with the British Commonwealth and will be written after the Prince of Wales' visit. Several prizes will be given according to age... The sum of £b 5s was voted as prize -money, but it is hoped this will be augmented by private donations. A gift of £}o was handed into the secretary by a resident appreciative of the Club's work. A sub-committee was appointed to develop the artsdramatic, musical and literary. The action 'of the President and Secretary was approved in arranging for the delivery of the Over-Seas Magazine to all fully paid members of the Club (members at 25.) This privilege is an additional one granted to members. A general-meeting of members was arranged for the 22nd
