Rock away Beach naval station fire damaged two seaplanes which were to start to-morrow on first big trans-Atlantic flight. Commander Towers announced weather permitting start for Newfoundland will be made to-morrow by one undamaged seaplane and possibly two others. Vienna, Saturday.—lt is stated in allied circles that the commanders of Serbian and Rumanian troops have decided not to occupy Budapest and are confining their operations to Vienna.

Versailles. —President Wilson and Premier Clemenceau and Lloyd George visited the " Trianon " this afternoon to inspect the arrangements tor the ceremony of handing over the Peace Treaty to he Ger-t mans. They expressed themselves as satisfied. Paris. The decision of Premier Orlando and Foreign Minister Sonnio to return to Paris was taken spontaneously after Conferences in Rome during the last few days according to the " The Council of Three did not reply to telegram received from Baron Sonnio on Saturday, New York. Private telegraphic advices received here to-day indicated that losses in recent earthquake in San Salvador are heavier than was at first supposed, particularly in the city of San Salvador.
American Red Cross San Salvador actively engaged in work of caring for inj ured and homeless, and endeavours in this direction are making heavy demands upon its local resources. Paris. The situation in Lemberg has lately greatly improved, according to a despatch. Berne. are advancing along a front of 260 miles from Courland to the region of Grodio and are approaching Vilna according to a report received by the Lithunian- Press Bureau. Lithunian advancing troops have occupied Seikei and Wiewai 24 miles from Vilna and the bridgehead of Ciesna on'the River Vilna. (Received from Awanui on the Bth May). The Peace Treaty has been handed to the Germans at last. Germany is to renounce -territorial and political rights outside Europe, to disarm fortifications, suppress air forces, fleet and army to be negligible and to surrender the Kaiser for trial. The territory held by Germans in Poland, Denmark, France and Belgium to be surrendered. Germany must before May 1, 1921, pay a thousand million sterling in gold, goods, and ships and restore all property in the invaded territory. The Italians have returned to Paris and an early settlement of the difficulties is expected. Wilson is receding from his previous position." Italy agrees to admiaister Fiume for four years and afterwards becomes absolute owner. Austria protests against cession of Tyrolian towns. Roumanian, French, Serbian and Slovak forces are advancing on Budapest, and the fate of the Soviet Government will soon be settled. The ExKaiser has asked for permission to return to West Prussia Hindenberg has retired into civil life. The German General Staff has been abolished.
