Notice Attention is drawn to the law regarding dangerous dogs, as follows : 1. Police Offences Ordinance Amendment Ordinance 1895 2. Section 3 ot the Police Offences Onlin;iace 1892 is hereby nmmended by ihe addition of the following subjection : 2-k Permitting any dog which shall be known to be dangerous or In have bitten or injured any person or animal to go at, liirge without a proper muzzle. 2-"). Keeping a dog which shall on any highway or any nninclosed place rush at or attack auy person or animal, whereby any person or animal be injured. 3. Any such dog as mentioned in the 'proceeding subsection 25 shall he liable to be killed by summary order of thp Municipal Magistrate, and also any person who shall himself be bitten or attacked hv such dog may destroy the same without being answerabh- for damage occasioned thereby. The Municipal Magistrate may take cognizance of a complaint that a dog, whether at large or not, is dangerous and not kept under proper control, and if it appears to the Magistrate that such dog is dangerous, he may make an order in a summary way directing the do<r to be kept by the owner under nroner contro', or destroyed. 'l. Any person who shall he convicted ci' an Offence against faction 2 or of not complying with any order made by the Magistrate under Section 3of this Ordinance shall he liable to the penalties prescribed by subsection 22 of the Police Ofhmces Ordinance 1892. 5, Any person who shall wantonly provoke a to nt.tnck him and eh ill thereafter destroy such dog under potest of authority under this Ordinance or otherwise shall be liable to a fine not exceeding 320 (twenty) O.S.C. or to imprisonment not exceeding 20 (twenty) days, with or without hard hbour, and to the payment for damages to the own°r C) No complainant shall he entitled to redress under this Ordinance and no punishment shall be inflicted in any case wheie it is nrnved to the satisfaction of the ristrate tlvit the offence complained of has been cused by provocation of the complainant, This matter is brought up consequent on comphints received that dogs on the Apia water front mid elsewhere are becoming a menace to the public safi-ty by rushing at and attacking persons or. horseback Attention is also drawn to the fact that all dogs found without collars or with last year's collars on are being taken into custody and will be disposed by the Police Department.
