THE PRINTING ESTABLISHMENT AT LEULUMOEGA, UPOLU.
The Press is still in active operation. In a few months the whole of the New Testament will be completed ; only a revised edition of the gospel by Matthew remains to be printed. There has been printed under Bro. Stair’s superintendence, since the last report,—the 2 Coiinthians, 1 and 2 Thessalonians, the Revelation, &c. I entered upon the duties of the Press, November the 26th, 1845, from which date to Febuary 18th, 1846, have been printed the following books ;—7,000 copies of the epistles to the Ephesians, Philippians, 1,2, and 3, John, Philemon, Colossians, 1 and 2 Timothy, 1 and 2 Peter, Hebrews, James, Jude, and Titus : also, 500 Spelling books for Lifu, Negone, Vate, (Islands to the Westward,) and 500 Catechisms for Tana, 1600 Samoan Magazines, 4000 copies of a small work on Astronomy, 24 pages, with several smaller matters, making altogether a total of 1,033,200 pages which have been issued from the Samoan Press since the above date.
